Pyhännän Metsätietokeskus

Pyhännän Metsätietokeskus (forest information centre) is located in the municipality of Pyhäntä at the junction of three provinces. The characteristics of the nature in Kainuu, Savo and Northern
Ostrobothnia give it an interesting and diverse wilderness-like overall look. In addition to the dozens of clearwater ponds in the ridge areas, the largest lakes are Pyhännänjärvi, on the shore of which the village is built, and Iso – Lamujärvi, famous for its abundance of fish and sandy beaches.
Metsätietokeskus offers excellent facilities for get-togethers and meetings related to forest, wilderness and adventure tourism. The facilities have internet access, a 60-person auditorium equipped
with multimedia technology, and an exhibition space displaying the cycle of wood and nature. For those interested in outdoor activities and nature, Metsätietokeskus prepares various outdoor and nature hiking service packages in co-operation with local programme and accommodation service companies.
